The Imagen Awards, founded by Norman Lear, encourage positive and accurate portrayals of the Latinx community in the entertainment industry. The awards, now in their 34th year, were held Saturday, August 10, 2019. Two PBS programs won awards Saturday. Great Performances: John Leguizamo’s Road to Broadway won Best Documentary and Breaking Big won Best Informational Program.
