Cokie Roberts, a longtime NPR contributor died today. She was 75.
Roberts joined NPR in 1978, just eight years after it’s founding. She was part of a team of prominent women at NPR in the early days who helped shape the voice of the organization as one that was welcoming to women. She stayed with NPR full-time for 10 years before departing for ABC News, but, she maintained a part-time political correspondent position for the rest of her life.
Cokie Roberts has been a huge influence on public media. She shaped the culture to be more inclusive and left her lasting mark.
