										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Courtney Pledger is the executive director of the  Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) and an <a href="https://publicmedianow.org/news/five-new-pbs-board-members-elected/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">elected professional director on the PBS Board</a>. She joined AETN in 2017 as CEO and executive director and was elected to the PBS Board at the start of FY-2020 to serve a three-year term.</p>
<p>In her time at AETN, Pledger has modernized the station, pushing video streaming for various kinds of programming such as high school sports and state government proceedings. Prior to joining AETN, Pledger worked with the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival in Hot Springs, Arkansas to update the festival. She is also a member of the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) executive committee.</p>
<p>Courtney Pledger has worked in film and media for more than thirty years from Los Angeles to New York to London before returning to her home state of Arkansas. She has worked in a variety of roles at firms ranging from a creative consultant at the animation studio, Aardman Animations, to the senior vice president of Radical Pictures/Radical Studios.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The PBS Board of Directors held their first meeting of the fiscal year 2020 September 25, 2019. Five new PBS board members were elected to serve for the year. They are media attorney Catherine Robb and independent consultant Geoff Sands who join as general directors, as well as Rob Dunlop, President &amp; CEO of Cascade Public Media, Susi Elkins, Director of Broadcasting and General Manager for WKAR Public Media, and Courtney Pledger <a href="https://publicmedianow.org/bios/who-is-courtney-pledger/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">(learn more)</a>, Executive Director and CEO of Arkansas Educational Television Network, who join as professional directors. These five new members join 21 returning members and PBS president, <a href="https://publicmedianow.org/news/pbs-president-ceo-paula-kerger-signs-on-for-five-more-years/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Paula Kerger</a>, to make up the 27 person governance and policy-setting body for PBS.</p>
<p>In a <a href="http://www.pbs.org/about/blogs/news/five-new-members-elected-to-pbs-board-of-directors-seated-at-first-meeting-of-fiscal-year/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" rel="nofollow" >PBS press release</a>, Paula Kerger stated, &#8220;As PBS navigates a complex media environment, it is critical that we have the guidance and counsel of leaders from across the nation who have expertise in a broad range of fields. We are fortunate to have such an experienced and talented group of board members who are committed to advancing the essential mission of public television.&#8221; These new PBS board members represent a number of different regions across the country and will all bring their unique perspectives and station experiences to this central body.</p>

<p>As the Chief Content Officer, you will lead a cross-functional team for a digital-first multimedia publisher producing outstanding content for next-level audience engagement and growth. The CCO will establish a strong vision for an inventive, consistent and agile content publishing workflow and branding effort, leveraging AETN’s content across all platforms, in partnership with the network’s CEO and COO, as well as other members of the senior leadership team.</p>
<p>We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, enterprise-minded Chief Content Officer capable of building synergies across social, digital, marketing, broadcast and education audiences and platforms. A visionary leader who can build a culture of collaboration, achievement and distinction, driving AETN’s transition to a more collaborative, can-do culture that values big ideas and cross-platform successes.</p>
<p>Qualified candidates for Chief Content Officer will be a comprehensive understanding of digital operations and the value of full social engagement by the entire team. The ideal AETN CCO has managed a professional staff across multiple disciplines.  The position requires a degree and has worked for at least five years in the areas of branding, editorial, digital marketing, video production and content strategy development.  Experience more than five years may be substituted for the degree.</p>
<p>The CCO will oversee all content and marketing operations and lead with a bold strategic vision for station growth.
