										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Community Radio of Northern Colorado (CRNC), operator of NPR-affiliate KUNC and The Colorado Sound is seeking an innovative, broad-minded, energetic, and strategic leader. The right individual for this position must be passionate about the mission of CRNC and possess a significant business, financial, management and leadership skills.</p>
<p>The successful candidate must have a track record of achievement, as a leader with a complex organization or business, ideally one that is related to media, content development, and/or public engagement. S/he must be able to develop and implement a vision for how <a href="https://kunc.org" target="_blank"  rel="nofollow" >KUNC</a> and The Colorado Sound can reach more people, adapt its delivery platform strategy, and deepen its impact on the communities it serves while ensuring a viable long term financial structure.</p>
<p>The candidate must possess the skills necessary to be a strong and credible advocate for the station, and a superb communicator with both large and small groups. S/he must be able to navigate effectively on a local, state, and national stage, and bring the credibility to work with media, business, government, and philanthropy. The individual must demonstrate political acumen without being overtly ‘political.’  Experience in developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies is also important.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The StoryCorps Production department takes full StoryCorps interviews and shapes them into 2-3 minute, highly crafted stories for our Peabody award-winning weekly broadcast series on NPR and for our weekly podcast.</p>
<p>The Production Assistant (PA) provides editorial, administrative and technical support to the department. The PA works directly with tape, editing first cuts of interviews for potential broadcast. The PA also researches and pitches stories, facilitates interviews, and produces audio for internal organizational use. The PA has a hand in each step of the production process, from story inception to final digital presentation.</p>
<p>StoryCorps tells stories from an inclusive range of American voices – with programs and initiatives including OutLoud, an initiative that collects the voices of the LGBTQ community, StoryCorps Griot to preserve stories of African Americans, StoryCorps Historias to collect the experiences of Latinos, and our National Teachers Initiative and Military Voices Initiative, focused on stories of America’s teachers and post-9/11 military, respectively. Candidates with knowledge of the histories and cultures of diverse communities are encouraged to apply.</p>
<p><strong>WHAT YOU’LL DO</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Edit StoryCorps interviews from all tiers of service using ProTools</li>
<li>Research, pitch, and record StoryCorps interviews at booths and in the field for potential production use</li>
<li>Produce promos and other internal audio to support StoryCorps departments and radio partners</li>
<li>Conduct fact-checking for broadcast series as needed</li>
<li>Research, acquire, and edit photos for broadcast stories</li>
<li>Draft and design web posts for digital story presentation as needed</li>
<li>Facilitate Production interviews both locally and nationally</li>
<li>Provide general administrative and technical support to the Production team</li>
<li>Train and supervise Production interns, as assigned</li>
<li>Train facilitators on Production best practices and processes</li>
<li>Track production-worthy interview materials from tiers of service</li>
<li>Support ongoing maintenance of department reports</li>
<li>Manage weekly backup of StoryCorps content and maintain Production department broadcast archive</li>
<li>Perform other tasks to support the Production function, as assigned</li>

Nevada Public Radio also operates Desert Companion, a successful regional lifestyle magazine.</p>
<p>The successful candidate will be an energetic, experienced and enthusiastic leader with strong fundraising, journalistic and business management skills.</p>

<p><strong>OVERVIEW</strong></p>
<p><em>A thriving, mission-driven multimedia organization, NPR produces award-winning news, information, and music programming in partnership with hundreds of independent public radio stations across the nation. <p>We’re looking for a creative and accomplished journalist to be a reporter and back-up host for a new daily science podcast launching this fall.</p>
<p>This smart, fun podcast will use insights and discoveries from science to help listeners see things a little differently. This will be short-form, digital-first content that reaches listeners where they are, whether it’s on smart speakers, new audio-on-demand choices in cars or your favorite podcast app.</p>
<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Identify and showcase engaging stories that use science to help us see the world a little differently.</li>
<li>Conceive, research, propose ideas and interviews for episodes.</li>
<li>As reporter and back up host, prepare and present content in original, compelling, entertaining and provocative ways</li>
<li>Write, edit, revise and deliver scripts related to the program.</li>
<li>Participate in the production of the program.</li>
<li>Ensure audio and stories are accurate and assist with performing story editing and fact-checking as needed.</li>
<li>Engage in program planning conversations</li>
<li>Maintain highest-quality audio standards.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>At least 4 years’ in journalism reporting and writing.</li>
<li>Work effectively with a minimum of supervision, even in complicated situations.</li>
<li>Ability to work quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines.</li>
<li>Demonstrated writing skills</li>
<li>Audio skills a plus</li>
<li>Subject matter expertise. Some reporting preferred.</li>
<li>Ability and willingness to relocate. NPR may choose to transfer employees to other geographic locations.  Severance provisions of the AFTRA collective bargaining agreement will apply should you choose not to accept a transfer.</li>
<li>Ability and willingness to work varied shifts.</li>
<li>Proven ability to consistently work well with others, demonstrating at all times respect for the diverse constituencies at NPR and within the public radio system.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>EDUCATION:</strong> Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience</p>
